Namaste Deutschland :)

                    GERMANY - SAY SHAVA SHAVA

Tugce and I
My personal experience in Germany was awesome. I first landed at Munich, from where my partner Tugce received me and then we traveled to my actual destination, Augsburg. Augsburg is a very peaceful city. It has superb architecture, and each building/church had its own interesting share in the Augsburg history. It is exactly the kind of city I would love to live in with my family and friends. My German partner is Turkish, and on the first day she took me to a Turkish wedding. It was really interesting and a lot of fun to watch how the Turkish weddings ceremonies are. Later on, in my trip I also got to meet many of her Turkish friends, who were really sweet. Their love and admiration for Bollywood really got me happy. I got to eat some amazing Turkish food as well. We did quite a few road trips to different parts of the state Bavaria, which was a lot of fun. Out of all the other cities we visited, I loved Munich the most. The architecture and shopping in Munich was amazing. Although I must say, shopping in Augsburg is really good as well, especially when the sale is on.
Sliding down the slopes of Zugspitze
We also visited the highest peak in Germany - Zugspitze. We reached the peak of the mountain by a cable car and played in the snow. The one thing that I totally love and admire about Germany is how disciplined the country is. There is law and order in everything that they do. I would love to bring back that one aspect of Germany to India. My host family was really sweet. Her parents took extra special care of me. And for me, living in a unknown country with unknown people was a big step. But they made me feel like I was at home! I got to cook my own food, whenever I wanted to. Being a vegetarian isn't easy, specially in a country like Germany. But my host mother made sure I had no problems with food, everyday I came back home to the smell of yummy vegetarian food. Surprisingly I did not miss Indian food at all. All my needs and problems were met with a smile on my partners face. I would say am very lucky to have her as my partner. I learnt a lot in my trip to Germany. The first main thing that I learnt was to adjust. And the other important thing I learnt was to be on time. My partner and I had many things in common. For example, we both LOVED Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. We also spent many evenings watching his movies, we made the others also watch them. And they loved it as well, especially the songs.
Say Shava Shava ;) - Sandra and I
Both the Germans and Indians wore traditional German and Indian clothes during our farewell party. There was a good mix of cultures. I got a gist of both German and Turkish cultures. I even learnt a few Turkish words, and practised my German. By the end of the trip, I got along really well with Tugce. And exactly when I got used to living in Augsburg it was time to leave. My farewell from Augsburg was a very tearful one. Tears rolled down my eyes, as I bid my final good bye to Tugce. I also became very good friends with Sandra, Marina, Paulina and Leonie. Now, back in India, I really miss Germany and my friends in Germany. I am looking forward to their visit in October and to give them a taste of our Indian culture and hospitality. Over all I had an amazing, breath taking, once in a life time experience in Germany. And anyone who hasn't been to Germany, I suggest, you MUST go there at least once in your lifetime :)

Deutschland ist sehr schön. Ich liebe Deutschland <3
